Post-Care Tips
After care watering instructions
- New Trees – Start off with 1-3 weekly waterings. Once established, switch to 1 watering per week. Each watering should be approximately 1-2 gallons of water per inch of trunk diameter.
- Mature Trees – You can plan to water mature trees as little as 1-2 times a month if well established. To see if your tree needs water, poke a long screwdriver into the soil. If it’s hard to push in, water! If the screwdriver penetrates easily, hold off watering.
- Grass Seed – Water new grass seed to keep evenly moist, and type of soil does matter. If your seed dries out during the day, you will need a second watering each day until seed germinates. Germination typically takes 10-14 days.
How long should I stay off my lawn after a lawn treatment? Same for pets?
We recommend you and your pets stay off your treated lawn until product is dry. On average this is 2-4 hours after treatment. Our crews will leave a lawn sign letting you know when it is safe to go on the lawn.
When can I mow after my lawn treatment?
It is recommended to wait 24-48 hours to mow after each fertilizer and weed control application. Mow your lawn to a height of 2-4” depending on grass type and avoid trimming more than 1/3 of the lawn’s height at one time.
When is the best time to aerate?
Aeration can be done spring or fall. Fall aeration is a great time to aerate and allows minimal spread of weeds when pulling plugs from the lawn.
